Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights, a country radio show broadcasting live from Nashville to more than 90 stations nationwide. The show features interviews and in-studio performances by country superstars. Sam is also the red carpet correspondent for TasteofCountry.com, the #1 country music news site on the web with 6 million monthly on-site visitors and 2 million Facebook fans.
He was nominated for the ACM “National On-Air Personality of the Year” and a finalist in the same category at the CRS/Country Aircheck Awards. Other industry honors include “Audio’s 30 Under 30” by Edison Research & RAIN News, “Rising Star of Radio” by Radio Ink Magazine & the Radio Advertising Bureau and the Indiana Broadcasters Association “Personality of the Year.” Sam has appeared as himself on ABC TV’s “Nashville” and CMT’s “Still The King.”
Sam has hosted and produced shows across the country. He is an active member of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM). He currently volunteers with the Country Radio Broadcasters as a member of the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) Agenda Committee.
He served as the Public Address Announcer for athletic programs at Illinois State University, Indiana University, University of Maryland, Georgetown University and American University; including basketball, baseball and various Olympic sports. He also did play-by-play work for Verizon Fios TV in Washington, DC.
Sam is an Ambassador for “Get Caught Reading,” a nationwide campaign to remind people how much fun it is to read. An Education major at Illinois State University, he has long been a champion of the cause. Sam’s career began as an intern at WLIT in Chicago his senior year of high school. While in College he was an exchange student for a semester in Japan.
